Today I’m writing about the Bournemouth Pier to Pier open water swim which raises money for the British Heart Foundation. I’m wearing my new Sweaty betty swim suit or an Orca swim outfit, it’s England in summer and you need to prepare for any weather.
This year the Bournemouth Pier to Pier swim attracted over 1900 people. This is the biggest charity swim in Europe. You brave the English channel in this incredible 2.4km (1.4 mile) open water swim. Starting from Bournemouth Pier, putting your front crawl to the test in this challenging sea swim along the coastline to Boscombe Pier.
I have done this swim every year we have lived here, this year I’m sad to say I didn’t get to swim it as the dates got changed due to weather and I was at the Wilderness Festival the same weekend. My photographer popped down and got some beautiful shots and I’m sure to be bobbing about next year.
I would have been wearing my new Sweaty Betty swim suit as the weather was stunning (if the weather had been cold it would have been in my orca suit)
