Today I’m down at Sorted Surf Shop wearing this gorgeous O’Neill Wetsuit and taking out the Naish Odysseus Paddle Board for a demo. I always feel at home in/by the ocean most likely because growing up in New Zealand your almost born at the beach, so swimming, surfing, boating, kayaking I have done since a young age. Although Stand up paddle boarding is something I have only started since I moved to Bournemouth 4 years ago.
I’m a huge fan of stand up paddle boarding. You get out into the water and cruise at your speed and watch the world around you. It all quietens down as you paddle out and I love watching all the fish and sea life pass underneath. I find it very relaxing. It can also be a fantastic workout for you whole body and especially your core strength.
Thank you Antony and the team down at Sorted Surf Shop for the gear and the tips, I did still manage to use my paddle the wrong way around like I have always done, is there such thing as goofy paddle holding? Because thats me.
I can’t rate this board any higher its fantastic for paddling in the small surf and the flat. It gets up to great speed with ease. The Naish site says “Odysseus series is designed for all-around cruising, exploring, learning the basics and riding small waves. Featuring an extra wide outline throughout the nose, mid-section and tail, these boards provide phenomenal stability” I’ve always just hired boards every time I feel like a paddle but think I need to invest in this one.
