Let’s do breakfast………

I have a go to breakfast that I love and almost never get sick of its a super simple and easy to prepare. It consists of an egg, egg whites, pinhead oats(steel cut) and Chia seeds.

Ingredients for Oats:

1/4 cup of organic Pinhead(steel cut) oats (about 150 grams when cooked)

3/4 cup of filtered water

Very small pinch of pink Himalayan salt

1 teaspoon of organic Chia seeds

 

Method:

Place water in a pot and bring to almost boiling and add oats and simmer for 25 minutes. Stir about every 5 minutes to keep them fluffy and to check its not sticking to the pot. Serve in a bowl, add Chia seeds and mixed.

Today I also added 1/2 teaspoon of unsweetened organic shredded coconut, a few Goji berries and Organic Cinnamon. I often add a couple of raspberries or blueberries. By adding the coconut and cinnamon its sweet enough for me but you might like to add a low carb sweetener like Stevia if you have a sweet tooth.

I often cook a batch at once for the week so they can be reheated very quickly to save time, I just times the ingredients by six and it keeps for about 7 days.

 

 

Ingredients for Eggs:

1 whole organic egg

130 grams Two Chicks egg whites

Freshly cracked pepper

Small pinch of pink Himalayan salt

Optional:

Cayenne Pepper

Cumin Powder

Turmeric Powder

Dried Oregano

 

Method:

Put all ingredients into a bowl and whisk, Heat a non stick frying pan to the med to hot heat and add mixture once pan is hot. Cook for about two minutes and scrabble with a wooden spoon until cooked.  Serve.

I hope you enjoy my favorite breakfast, It workouts out to be about 28 grams protein, 31 grams Carbs, and 9 grams fat for the people who count macros. I flexible diet but often weight what I’m eating to make sure I getting balance of Protein and Carbohydrates.

  1. This is a quality meal with a good combination of macros. People willing to start their day with this type of meal are likely to have more energy than those choosing stimulants and white flour (coffee and bagel or donut.) If you are ready to change your life for the better, listen to ALYS!
